Publication Ethics (Publication Ethics)
Transukma Journal (eISSN 2797-3557) is a journal published by the Civil Engineering Study Program at Balikpapan University. This Publication Ethics explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing articles in the Transukma Journal.
The scientific publication code of ethics statement is a statement of the ethical code for all parties involved in the scientific journal publication process, including: Managers, Editors, Bestari Partners, and Writers/Authors. This statement of the code of ethics for scientific publications refers to the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which essentially upholds three ethical values in publications, namely:
- Neutrality, namely free from conflict of interest in managing publications;
- Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those entitled to be authors/writers; And
- Honesty, namely free from Duplication, Fabrication, Falsification and Plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.
Writer's Duties•
The author writes the manuscript/article based on accurate original research reports.• The author writes every reference used in the manuscript according to the rules of scientific writing.• The author must ensure that the manuscript written is free of plagiarism.• The author can ensure that the manuscript submitted to the Transukma Journal has never been published in other media, and is not being sent to another journal.• Authors must agree on the role of each contributor in writing the article and have previously agreed on writing the main author and co-authors.• When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published manuscript, authors have an obligation to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct it.
Editor's Duties
1. Publication DecisionThe Journal Editor is responsible for deciding which articles should be published based on input from the results of reviews carried out by Bestari partners. Editors can consult with review partners in making this decision.
2. Principle of Justiceo Editors evaluate manuscripts/articles without regard to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.o The editor will ensure that the article fits the journal's scientific focus/scope. Responses from bestari partners will be used as a basis for the Editor to determine whether an article can be accepted, accepted with revision (accepted with major/minor revision), or rejected.o An article is rejected for publication due to various considerations, including because the article does not comply with the scope, the scientific side of the article is insufficient to be classified as a scientific paper, basic methodological errors, or because the author refuses to carry out suggestions for improvements given by partners. bestari without a logical basis.o The order of publication is adjusted to the order in which articles are submitted and article revisions are submitted to the editorial board.
3. ConfidentialityThe editor does not have to disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, including bestari partners.
4. Conflict of interestUnpublished material disclosed in the manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without written consent from the author.
Duties of Bestari Partners
Bestari partners assist the editor in making editorial decisions and through editorial communications which are then conveyed to the author. The assistance provided by Bestari partners concerns the content review of a manuscript/article.o Every manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document. Manuscripts may not be displayed or discussed with others except as permitted by the editor.o The review must be carried out objectively with supporting arguments according to scientific principles.
Ethical Standards for Website Administrators:
Website Administrator is the person responsible for managing the journal website. Specifically, the scope of duties of a Website Administrator is as follows:
1. Set up a journal website;
2. Configure system options and manage user accounts;
3. Register for the Editorial Board, Bestari Partners, and Writers;
4. Manage journal features;
5. View report statistics; And
6. Upload/publish papers that have accepted status.
